Start your full-day privately guided excursion to Mae Chan to visit the Yao and the Akha hilltribe villages from Chiang Rai. After a 07:00 AM pick-up in central Chiang Mai, depart for Chiang Rai, stopping for a short break at Mae Kachan hot springs.

Visit Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, before continuing to the Golden Triangle area. Visit Wat Phra That Chedi Luang in Chiang Saen Ancient City and see the Thailand, Laos and Myanmar borders from the Golden Triangle viewpoint.

Stop for lunch before visiting the private Opium Museum, where you’ll learn the story of the opium trade and its significance. Enjoy a long-tail boat trip on the mighty Mekong River.

On the way back to Chiang Mai take a break to stretch your legs in Mae Suay or Wiang Pa Pao district and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. The estimated arrival time in Chiang Mai city is 8:30 PM. The arrival time in Chiang Mai City depends on the traffic conditions, amount of passengers, and any other unforeseen circumstances.

After hotel pick up be driven to Mae Sai on the Thai-Burma trading border. Cross the Sai River into Tha Chilek, the town on the Burmese side, and witness local Burmese life in nearby village.

On a rickshaw you will explore Tha Chilek with its Shan style temple. Then ride around the town through lanes and side streets of Tha Chilek. Ending at a local market, famous for products from Southern China, Burma, and Laos. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Proceed on to the Golden Triangle area, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. Take a long-tailed boat trip around the Golden Triangle to view the splendor of the mighty Mae Khong River joining the Ruak River and forming the “triangle” with Laos, Burma, and Thailand.

Return to your hotel at around 4.00pm.
