Most of our team bikes / conference bikes / group bikes also have an electric motor for support, so that you can also put your legs up. Each drive for the vehicle's passengers has a freewheel. This private walking tour brings you to the places, where famous events of the Cold War happened and history was written. On this tour you will also see original pieces of the Wall, one of the last remaining guard towers and Checkpoint Charlie.

The tour starts at the Berlin Wall Documentation Center in the street "Bernauer Strasse", where many of the dramatic escape attempts took place, successful and tragic ones. You will ride one of the subways that were called "ghost trains" during the division of the city, so-called because of the gloomy atmosphere in the underground stations close to the wall. There we will see the Check Point Charlie (the most famous of all the crossing points between West and East), the immense former House of Ministries buildings (and one of the very few surviving Nazi ministry buildings) and from there head to the last surviving of the BT - variant Watchtower (which we can actually ascend). 

The tour finishes at Potsdamer Platz, once one of the busiest city intersections in Europe it was decimated by the end of the Second World War and what remained was further erased due to the construction of the Wall and the development of the death-strip. Now a bustling commercial and entertainment district it is a stark symbol of how a city can rebound from what was a social catastrophe if there ever was one.

The tour is a mix of cultural stops with history and anecdotes from the neighbourhood and tastings at five of my tried and tested favourite restaurants.

The rotating program may include Turkish, Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Peruvian, Austrian, Swedish and German specialties. Berlin kebab and/or currywurst is not planned, but is available upon request! A "snack" is a small portion - definitely more than a praline-sized bite: you can expect to get a full meal over the course of the tour.
