Starting in Whitehorse, we stop first at the beautiful ‘Miles Canyon’ with it’s famous suspension bridge and continue on to the South Klondike Highway where the mountains rise as we approach Carcross and the Southern Lakes region – which is well know as the photographer’s paradies. We visit the smallest desert in the world - the Carcross desert - and we visit Carcross, a charming lakeshore village teeming with First Nations and gold-rush history. On a beginner-level hiking tour on scenic trails we will be overlooking the grand Southern Lakes. This region is nowadays the final stop for the White Pass Railway. Of course we will also admire Emerald Lake, called „Rainbow Lake” from the locals due to its sensational coloration.

Enjoy your port time in Skagway with a full-day shore excursion by mini-bus into the Yukon, Canada's westernmost territory. Explore some of North America's most stunning wilderness, and stop at Caribou Crossing for lunch. Lunch is BBQ chicken with sides of roasted potato, coleslaw, rolls, homemade donuts, tea/coffee (Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten free option of lentil curry is available as alternate). Included are a Wildlife Taxidermy museum with over 100 Yukon and Arctic species as well as recreations of Ice age animals. Historical Gold Rush and Canadian Mountie display also included. Onsite is a sled dog camp where you can see the huskies preparing for the Yukon Quest race. There is also a petting farm with animals to interact with and gift shop. Pet the Pups with Michelle Phillips and husband Ed Hopkins as they share their 50 years of combined mushing knowledge! At their dog mushing camp we will learn about the incredible sport of winter competitive mushing, the endurance and grit and bond required by both the dog team and their human to race through the wilderness in sometimes below freezing temperatures.
We will also pet the adorable future racing pups! You’ll receive a signed copy of Michelle Phillips book, some dog booties, a dog tag, and sponsorship of a sled dog. You may also book a thrilling 15 minute dog cart ride on a sturdy UTV (side by side), pulled by their racing dog team for an additional charge. After petting the pups, your journey isn't over! You will travel all the way up to Emerald Lake, stopping to take in many different scenic points, with your private tour guide.
